2021 Women & Philanthropy: First Lady Debby Bailey
Debby Bailey:
Hello, everyone. I want to share with you an amazing program that is really making a difference for the kids and families of Shriners Hospitals for Children, Women and Philanthropy. All of us here and the women we know back home are deeply committed to helping improve the lives of children. Women and Philanthropy gives us a powerful way to do just that. Now, in its third year, Women and Philanthropy has already made quite an impact. More than 470 women have participated. And since 2019, we've raised more than a half a million dollars to help improve the lives of children, but that is just the start. Ladies, we have an opportunity to make a real difference. There are so many children who could benefit from the life-changing care that Shriners Hospitals offers, here in the US and around the world. The need is great and therefore, so is our opportunity to make a difference.
Women and Philanthropy supports my fundraising program, Transforming Lives, which shines a light on the amazing contributions Shriners Hospitals for Children brings to the field of scoliosis treatment. Membership in Women and Philanthropy is open to all women. If a woman has a desire to make the world a better place and a passion to help kids, she belongs with Women and Philanthropy. As first lady of Shriners International, I invite all women, including those who are our doctors, nurses, therapists, administrators, vice presidents, staff members, volunteers, community leaders, and neighbors to join us.
Women may become a member of this special organization by committing to an annual gift of $500. As women, we want to be role models for the next generation. As women, we have a special place in our hearts for children and a desire to improve lives. Women and Philanthropy is the perfect way to express those beliefs and goals. Together, we can make a powerful difference in the lives of children.
