2020 Women and Philanthropy: First Lady Alice Smith

Hello everyone I want to talk with you today about the power we have as women to join together and make a meaningful difference in this world women and philanthropy gives us the opportunity to do just that women have always encouraged others and influenced change in society today women have a stronger voice than ever and a greater opportunity to support the work that we hold dear as first lady of Shriners International it is my pleasure to support women and philanthropy which benefits Shriners Hospitals for children membership is open to all women women of all ages and backgrounds women everywhere the only criteria are having a heartfelt desire to make the world a better place and a passion to improve the lives of children women and philanthropy enhances the efforts of Shriners Hospitals for children by supporting the annual first lady's programs now in its second year women and philanthropy will support my fundraising program rising stars which helps ensure the availability of assistive devices to help patients become more independent and live more fulfilling productive lives the staff of Shriners Hospitals for children is known for taking the time to listen to patients and their families learning not only their medical needs but just as importantly their hopes and dreams we strive to give our patients every possible opportunity to make those hopes and dreams a reality for many patients the use of assistive devices can be a turning point in their lives assistive devices can range from items to help kids move walk or play to things that help children feed or dress themselves to even computer driven systems that help kids who have difficulties speaking and communicating the Rising Stars fundraising program supports a diverse collection of efforts to give patients customized solutions to help them achieve their goals in life we invite all women including those who are our physicians nurses therapists administrators vice president's staff members volunteers and members of the worldwide community who support the amazing life-changing work of Shriners Hospitals for children to join us together we will be unstoppable together we can make a powerful difference in the lives of children in addition to knowing you are empowering children to overcome incredible obstacles and believe in their dreams you will have our gratitude as well as special opportunities to connect as they arise you'll also receive a commemorative necklace along with our heartfelt appreciation as women we want to be role models for the next generation as women we have a special place in our hearts for children and a desire to make a difference women and philanthropy is the perfect way to express those beliefs and goals we look forward to welcoming you as a member of this very special gathering of women who care to learn more please visit love to the rescue org slash women and philanthropy, thank you.
