2022 Fun & Fellowship Competition Winners
The 2022 Shriners International Fun & Fellowship Competition showcased the creative ways our nobles, clubs, units and Shrine Centers are coming together to find new ways to share and express the fun and fellowship our fraternity is known for. Congratulations to all of our winners, and thank you to everyone who submitted an entry and voted for our 10 finalists. Check out our winners and learn more about their events.
1st Place Winners: Ainad Shriners
What does it take to win the 2022 Shriners International Fun & Fellowship Competition? Look no further than this year’s winners, Ainad Shriners (East St. Louis, Illinois) and the Puttin’ Around Ainad event.
The 4-person scramble brings together clubs and units to create challenging putt-putt holes on a course that runs through the building. The event includes everyone in the Shrine Center – from the Potentate to support staff – everyone wants in on the fun and fellowship the event was designed to encourage. Organizers say they’ve seen inactive members return to being active within the fraternity and introducing new prospects to the organization.
2nd Place Winners: Abou Ben Adhem Shriners
Abou Ben Adhem Shriners (Springfield, Missouri) created an indoor tailgate party to celebrate the East-West Shrine Bowl and welcome new nobles and ladies in a fun environment. The event also earned them a second-place finish in the 2022 Shriners International Fun & Fellowship Competition.
The event engages clubs and units in friendly tailgate party decor and food competitions while introducing new Nobles to all the activities available year-round. Nobles are encouraged to bring friends and families for a great day of fun and football. This year, they even had an indoor tricycle race. It’s a great way to spend a cold, Missouri afternoon.
3rd Place Winner: El Zagal Shriners
What happens when you combine fun and fellowship with a passion for classic cars? For El Zagal Shriners, it was the El Zagal Duster Car Show and a third-place showing in the 2022 Shriners International Fun & Fellowship Competition.
When COVID-19 canceled many events, El Zagal Shriners sought a new way to promote fellowship, bring awareness to the fraternity and Shriners Children’s, and connect with the community.
The show attracts many specialty and exotic car collectors, allowing enthusiasts to see many automobiles they may not see at other shows.
Congratulations to our winners and thanks to everyone who participated in the 2022 Fun & Fellowship competition.
