1926 East-West Football

1926 East-West Shrine Bowl Autographed Football

Autographed football from the 1926 East-West Shrine Bowl

The first East-West Shrine Bowl was played on December 26, 1925, at San Francisco’s Ewing Field. The first game had an audience of 25,000 fans and raised $25,000 for Shriners Children’s.

The second East-West Shrine Bowl was played in Kezar Stadium in San Francisco, on January 1, 1927 (officially referred to as the 1926 game). The West team defeated the East with a score of 7-3.

All of the players autographed a football to commemorate the occasion, a tradition that continues today. The ball is on display at Shriners International Headquarters in Tampa, Florida.
