Ansar Shrine was chartered on July 13, 1915 and constituted as the 136th Shrine Center under its Charter. For many years Ansar conducted its business in a Masonic Shrine Center in Springfield, IL. In 1964, a location was purchased to build a home for Ansar. In 1965 the membership approved a proposal to begin construction of our present building. Ansar Shrine Center as it is today was completed and occupied in 1967.
