Noble Temple R. Holt of Sharon Shriners in Tyler, Texas, has been named Shriner of the Month for November 2014. The award program was developed by the leadership of Shriners International to honor outstanding nobles who demonstrate an extraordinary commitment to both the fraternity and its philanthropy, Shriners Hospitals for Children.
A Faithful Devotee of Shriners International
Noble Holt of Tyler, Texas, became a Master Mason in 1971. Two years later, he joined the Scottish Rite, and after another three years, he joined the York Rite. He became a noble of Sharon Shriners in 1983, and has been an active and dedicated member of the fraternity ever since.
Noble Holt works tirelessly to promote Shriners International and Freemasonry. He has served as his temple’s Hospital Transportation Chairman for the past 10 years, and has worked countless hours scheduling drivers, coordinating the maintenance of the vans, and personally cleaning the vehicles prior to patient transportation trips. As the Hospital Transportation Chairman, he consistently delivers reports at the temple’s stated meetings, keeping the nobility informed about patient transportation efforts. He is also the Orator of the Ceremonial Cast, delivering the prologue and Shriners Creed, and previously served as the Marshal on the Cast.
Noble Holt is also an active member and former president of the Jeep Patrol and the Golf Unit, and a member of the Directors Staff. He has also served as Circus Chairman three times, and as Assistant Chief of Staff on several occasions. According to members of the Sharon Divan, “Noble Holt is, without fail, at almost every temple function, and he is always pitching in and lending a hand whenever and wherever it is needed. A more tireless worker could not be found anywhere.”
An Embodiment of the Masonic Principles of Brotherly Love, Relief and Truth
In addition to his efforts on behalf of Shriners International, Noble Holt is also devoted to Masonry. He is active in his blue lodge, and served as Worshipful Master of St. Johns Lodge No. 53 for the 2013-2014 Masonic year. In 2011, he was awarded the Golden Trowel, the highest honor an individual lodge in Texas can award. He frequently visits the blue lodges of eastern Texas, spreading the word about the local activities of Shriners International and the Scottish and York Rites. “Noble Holt is constantly encouraging other Masons to continue their search for light by joining the affiliated bodies of Masonry. He exhibits all of the qualities that this recognition is based on, and Shriners International would have to look long and hard to find another nominee more deserving,” said members of his temple Divan.
Congratulations to Noble Holt for his achievements and for being chosen Shriner of the Month.
