For his initiatives in philanthropic work, Douglas Barnes, M.D., has been awarded the prestigious Humanitarian Award. The Latino Learning Center created the award along with a luncheon to recognize leaders in business, arts, sports, politics and health in the city of Houston.
Dr. Barnes is just one of four individuals in the category of health to be awarded for demonstrating commitment and compassion to our community. As a pediatric orthopaedic surgeon and the chief of staff for Shriners Hospitals for Children — Houston, Dr. Barnes strives to ensure patients receive the best care. This is a huge honor not only for Dr. Barnes, but also for Shriners Hospital in Houston.
