Shriners Hospitals for Children Open announced the 23 Shriners Hospitals for Children patients from United States, Canada and Mexico to serve as standard bearers during the final two rounds of the tournament, November 4–5, 2017. Shriners Hospitals for Children is also launching the #FundraiseFORELove campaign in partnership with the PGA TOUR event, which raises funds to assist the financial needs of the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to attend the tournament and walk inside the ropes during the professional competition.

Shriners Hospitals for Children has a mission to provide the highest quality care to children with neuromusculoskeletal conditions, burn injuries and other special health care needs within a compassionate, family-centered and collaborative care environment. The #FundraiseFORELove campaign will directly benefit those in need of the care received at Shriners Hospitals for Children across North America.

“The main goal of the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open is to raise awareness of the great medical care provided every day at Shriners Hospitals for Children locations throughout North America and the work those hospitals do to help transform the lives of children with orthopaedic conditions, burns, cleft lip and palate and spinal cord injuries,” said Adam Sperling, executive director of the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open. “As we identify new opportunities for the hospitals’ patients participating in the program and expand the activities included while on site, additional funding will provide these children with an opportunity to experience some of the best golfers in the world while leaving Las Vegas with memories and friendships to last a lifetime.”

The participating patients will join some of the top professional golfers in the world on the course as standard bearers, providing a walking scoreboard for spectators during the final two rounds of play. Participants will be representing all 22 Shriners Hospitals for Children locations throughout North America.
